Freedom 20/50 is an opening event like no other: THE celebration of sex, love and safety our community has worked 25 years to achieve.

The Freedom 20/50 party begins with festival goers walking, marching, dancing or beaming in to travel through a winding spiral of shared multi-sensory experience of our community’s journey to eradicating sexual harm. Revelers will see many of their community along the way, from the original 25ers (those high school students in the Central West who made the initial commitment) to the current community who continue the work and now live in a society where safety and respect are the norm and sexual violence is not a problem.

Through the journey there will be laughs, tears and building beats before festival goers reach the arena and the Freedom 20/50 dance party! Featuring some of the world’s best DJs, with the vibe of a classic 00s rave, everyone can party the night away in complete freedom and safety.  

Freedom 20/50 is both a retrospective of where we have been and a celebration of what is ahead. It is a testament to the strength of a community who believed they could make possible what they were told was impossible and a call to action for any community who think they can’t positively change the world they live in.
